Northwoods Children's Museum
Volunteers
The museum has need for committed
volunteers of all ages. In return for completing a minimum number of hours
based on the volunteer age group, the museum "pays" volunteers using admission
passes and Discovery Store certificates. To sign up as a museum volunteer;

| Commit to attend at least 2 scheduled team training meetings. | Commit to completing at least 16 community service hours during the high school years (Freshman to Senior). | Commit to completing a minimum of 16 community service hours in the course of a year. |
| Schedule and complete at least 12 hours of volunteer time (including team meetings) during the summer. | Certify that community service is NOT court ordered. | Certify that community service is NOT court ordered. |
| Complete a mid-term evaluation with museum supervisor(s). | May request letters of recommendation and/or character reference letters for job applications after completion of minimum service time. | May request of letters of recommendation/reference as needed. |
In return for meeting (or exceeding) the
minimum service obligation, the museum gives;

| 1 Discovery Store Dollar for every 2 hours given beyond 12 hours in a summer ($25 Max). | A fun place to spend time with peers and other adults while making a difference in the community. | 1 Discovery Store Dollar for every 2 hours given above 16 hours in a year ($25 Max/year). |
| Bonuses for attending all team training meetings. | A monthly service time (including a light supper) with flexible individual work opportunities. HS Volunteers can request that their earned rewards be donated to school fund-raising functions. | Letter(s) of recommendation, if requested. |
| An invite to the annual volunteer recognition event. | ||
| Recognition in the annual report and on the volunteer plaque. | ||
