Choose from 5 different field trip levels ranging
from
one to six hours in duration. All levels include
hands-on play time in the museum. The 2-Star level
and above include a program or adventure of
your choice (see list below). A minimum of 10 paying students is required.

Hands-on Helpers
Chaperones are required and admitted for free.
Preschool: 1 adult per 3 children. Grades K-5: 1 adult
per 5 children. Organizers of field trips involving
programming may be encouraged to bring additional
helpers and are credited accordingly. Adults in excess
of the required number will be charged $5.00 each.
Historic Adventures(1 hour duration)
Exploding Volcanoes (PreK - Grade 5). Experience
the past by creating a mini Krakatoa to take home and
learn the chemistry behind this science-fair favorite.
Dino Dig (PreK - Grade 3). After studying the art of paleontology, become a licensed paleontologist and go on
a dig to the Gobi Desert to uncover "ancient bones."
Underground Railroad (Grades 2 - 5). Meet Harriet Tubman
and escape to the north using museum safe houses and
historic signals that led slaves to safety.
Ellis Island (Grades 3 - 5). Step back in time to the late
1800's and become a pioneer as ship passengers immigrate
to New York. Experience the Island of Hopes and Dreams
as immigrants pass through registry hall.
Badger Mining (PreK - Grade 5). Prospect for minerals
in an actual mine and learn about the history that
made the Badger State.
Programs(1/2 hour duration)
Simply Science. Choose from 4 hands-on science experiments: Magic Writing, Dancing Raisins, Penny Boats or Color Wheel.
Pirate Math. Become a pirate for the day and learn math along the way. Search for doubloons and complete the 100's board in this matey's game.
Games. Choose from treasure hunt, scavenger hunt
or musical planets.
