Volcano Adventure


Available to PreK-Grade 5 field trips September through May.  The next public Volcano Adventure is Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.
Recommended minimum age - 5 years

Krakatoa volcanologist, Rogier Verbeek and assistant "Umberto", take budding geologists back in time to 1883 to explore an "active" volcano.

The adventure includes;
- understanding the power and science of a volcano
- hearing about Krakatoa and its impact on the world
- witnessing a volcanic eruption (chemical reaction) from a four foot volcano model
- narrowly escaping the scene through a lava tube
- painting a take-home mini-volcano

Field trip prices for three, four and five star field trips include the adventure.  Ticket prices for public adventures are as follows;
