Badger State Mining Adventure
Available to PreK-Grade 5 field trips when the
Badger State Mining Theme falls during the school year. This adventure is
not offered to the public.
Step back in time to the year 1849, one year after the formation of the great
state of Wisconsin to experience the Badger State's colorful mining heritage.
The adventure includes;
- learning what it takes to be a Cornish miner
- working to "strike it rich"
- hearing about Wisconsin minerals and a miner's life from "Miner-Al"
- staking a claim in the Mineral Point mini-mine
- working the claim, calculating expenses, and paying expenses back in Wisconsin
minerals
- making a stone pendant or magnet with earth treasures
Field trip prices for three, four and five star field trips include the
adventure. Ticket prices for public adventures are as follows;
